Tala Ismail

Tala is the Platform Engagement Coordinator at Access Now’s Digital Security Helpline, leading the Helpline’s engagement with tech platforms and third-party providers to help address urgent digital security incidents affecting people and communities at risk. A Lebanese-American from Los Angeles, she previously worked in the television industry, contributing to projects that elevated underrepresented voices.

Motivated to engage more directly with global human rights challenges, she moved to Berlin to pursue a master’s degree in human rights at the Hertie School. There, she joined the Hertie Digital Verification Corps, run in partnership with Amnesty International, and contributed to digital investigations documenting human rights violations worldwide
