Darika Bamrungchok

Asia Pacific Policy Analyst

Darika leads Access Now’s policy and advocacy work across Southeast Asia from her home in Bangkok. With over a decade of experience in human rights, digital security, and movement building, her work has been deeply rooted in Thailand’s evolving authoritarian landscape since the 2014 military coup. Before joining Access Now, she worked as a digital security trainer and incident responder for civil society in Thailand and across Southeast Asia. She began her career in journalism at a young age, and later served as a Campaign Coordinator at Amnesty International Thailand, implementing strategies and campaigns to support human rights defenders. While pursuing her master’s degree in public policy at Central European University in Budapest, she deepened her specialization in digital rights under authoritarian regimes. From 2019 to 2021, she worked as Digital Rights Manager at EngageMedia, leading digital rights and digital safety initiatives across the Mekong sub-region.
