Chiara’s work at Access Now focuses on the right to privacy, data protection, artificial intelligence, and surveillance. She holds an LLM Master’s degree in International Law from Amsterdam Vrije Universitieit, with a specialization in technology and human rights, and a Bachelor's degree in European Law from the University of Maastricht. Eager to discover more about the impact of technologies used for migration management, Chiara wrote her Master’s thesis on the use of biometrics, entitled “Biometric matching errors affecting requests for international protection: Effective remedies in the New Pact on Migration and Asylum.” She has worked for the United Nations Student Association and for a Brazilian NGO, as well for an Italian law firm and start-up incubator.
