Africa LGBTQ+ digital threats survey

LGBTQ+ rights: online, offline, everywhere

What threats have you faced that target LGBTQ+ communities in Africa?

In Africa and many regions around the world, queer people and members of LGBTQ+ communities face constant threats to their fundamental human rights, including entrapment, doxxing, harassment, or arbitrary arrest. These threats are exacerbating as a result of the swarm of dangerous and harmful anti-LGBTQ+ laws and regulations. Documenting such threats can help us push back and advocate for change. And we would love to hear from you. Tell us your experience and your concerns. This will help us shift the trend of harmful anti-LGBTQ+ legislations and call on authorities in Africa to protect, not violate, the human rights of LGBTQ+ people .

Before you take the survey: None of the questions in this survey are mandatory, and we anonymize all survey results for our research and public advocacy efforts. If you are concerned with information that might identify or be linked to you, and want to talk to us privately instead, please contact Jaimee Kokonya, our Africa Campaigner, at [email protected]. If you’re concerned about your digital safety, our Digital Security Helpline can help. Read our data usage policy to learn more information on how we process the data we receive.
