Kara Thompson

Kara is the Bookkeeper at Access Now where she ensures that the financial information and records are accurate and aids in month-end closing and reconciliation. Prior to Access Now, Kara was the Business Manager for MindBodySoul Yoga + Wellness. Before moving to New York City, she spent several years in corporate management and loss prevention with CVS Pharmacy, serving locations across Wisconsin and Indiana, and worked as the Industrial Sales Lead with Service Sanitation in the Chicagoland Region. She made the decision to follow her passion for numbers and shift her career to accounting, seeking a place in the non-profit sector, where her work can more closely align with her core values. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from SUNY Empire State College. In her free time, Kara enjoys testing new recipes, reading, hiking, and exploring the fine dining and theatre scene with her partner.
