We’re looking for a Middle East and North Africa Policy Analyst to join our Policy team, working in our Tunis office to advance digital rights and human rights all across the region. We hope you or someone you know is the right person for the job.
Here’s a little about who we are and what we do.
Who we are
Access Now is an international human rights organization that defends and extends the digital rights of users at risk around the world. By combining innovative policy, global advocacy, and direct technical support, we fight for open and secure communications for all.
We are currently a team of 40, with local staff in more than 10 locations around the world — Berlin, Brussels, Cordoba, Delhi, London, Manila, Nairobi, New York, San Jose, Tunis, and Washington D.C. We maintain four legally incorporated entities — Belgium, Costa Rica, Tunisia, and the United States — with our Tech, Advocacy, Policy, Granting, and Operations teams distributed across all regions.
Our aim is to empower and influence individuals, decision-makers, and stakeholders across the globe to ensure that the internet remains a platform for the exercise of our fundamental human rights, such as the rights to privacy, free expression, freedom of assembly, and association.
Sound exciting? We hope so!
The role in Tunis
There’s a complete job description here, but here’s a look at some of the things you’d be doing as a policy analyst for the MENA region:
- Develop policy recommendations and strategies that are appropriate for the legal, political and cultural context of the MENA region and the digital rights issues faced by users at risk there
- Support and collaborate with a diverse group of organizations and individuals in Tunisia and the MENA region to advance regional community objectives on digital rights
- Coordinate with the Advocacy team on innovative and effective regional advocacy approaches to advance digital rights in MENA, including helping to design and execute relevant local language online and offline campaigns
Diversity is a priority at Access Now. We strongly encourage women and LGBTQI individuals to apply!
Is this a good opportunity for you, or someone you know?
